Reflective Paragraphs Week 4 – Romans 3

This chapter has one of the best-known verses in it: “… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…”, which, as it happens, is part of a much longer six-verse run-on sentence about righteousness and faith. It ties in the train of thought which was begun in the middle of chapter one, and leads into the next one; having shown that neither Jew or Gentile is more righteous than the other, this phrase in the middle of a sentence sums it all up by saying that all have sinned and fall short. It’s such a shame that the next few verses aren’t quoted as often as that one: verses about justification and grace.
