Mura Buannaich mi Laithean-Saora

Seo an cèist an t-seachdain seo: “Bhuannaich thu làithean saora – seachdain thall thairis ann an dùthaich eile: càite an tèid/ nach tèid thu? Dè chì / nach fhaic thu an sin? Cò thèid air làithean saora còmhla ruit?…” agus cèistean mar seo eile. Seo mo freagairt:

Uill, mura buannaich mi seachdain thall thairis ann an dùthaich eile, thèid mi dhan Sealainn Nuadh no Bali. Tha gach dùthaich eile ro fhàda air falbh bh’ Astràilia. B’ fheàrr leam dol a Shealainn Nuadh. ‘S e àite nan bogans a th’ ann Bali.

Anns a’ Shealainn Nuadh, chì mi beanntain àrd ‘s mòra, sneachd, agus kiwis. Chan fhaic mi air còalas no cangùrus idir. Chì mi clàran-seòlaidh anns a’ Mhaori cuideachd. Tha mi a’ smaoineachadh nach tèid duine sam bith air làithean saora còmhla rium, ach tha co-ògha agam anns a’ Sheallainn Nuadh.

‘N uair a dh’fhosglas mi an doras anns a’ mhadainn, cluinnidh mi caoraich agus… kiwis. Tha mi an dochas nach cluinn mi còalas anns a’ fheasgar!

Bu toil leam Maori ionnsachadh, mura bhios mi anns an t-Seallainn Nuadh, ach tha mi a’ smaoineachadh gum b’fheàrr leam cànan Astràilianach ionnsachadh.

Gheibh mi mòran fòtos airson gum bi cuimhne agam air mo làithean saora.

Here’s this week’s question: “You have won a holiday – a week abroad in another country: where will you/ won’t you go? What will you/ won’t you see there? Who will go on holiday with you?…” and other questions like that. Here’s my response:

Well, if I won a holiday abroad in another country’s go to New Zealand or Bali. Every other country is too far away to go from Australia. I’d prefer to go to New Zealand. Bali is such a bogan place.

In New Zealand, I’ll see big, tall mountains, snow, and kiwis. I won’t see koalas or kangaroos at all. I’ll see signs in Maori as well. I think I won’t go with another person on holiday, but I have cousins in New Zealand.

When I open the door in the morning, I’ll hear sheep and… kiwis. I hope that I won’t hear koalas in the evening!

I’d like to learn Maori, if I’m in New Zealand, but I think it would be better if I learnt an Australian language.

I’ll take photos by which to remember my holiday.
